My professional newborn photography studio is located in Rockville, MD and is fully equipped for newborn, baby milestone, and children’s photography sessions. The studio includes a beautiful selection of newborn props, wraps, blankets, backdrops, headbands, hats, outfits, and accessories for both baby girls and baby boys.

Parents can choose from a variety of colors and styling options to create a newborn photography session that feels personal and unique to their family. From classic and timeless portraits to creative themed setups, each newborn session is carefully planned and photographed in my Rockville studio.

What to expect: Rockville MD Newborn photographer and baby photography

Newborn photoshoot

Newborn photography sessions are best planned before your baby arrives. I recommend contacting me during pregnancy, ideally in the second or third trimester, so we can reserve a date around your due date and plan the details of your session in advance.

Most newborn sessions take place when babies are approximately 5–21 days old, although every baby is different. Before your Rockville newborn photography session, we will discuss your preferred colors, styling, poses, and the types of photographs you would like to include.

I provide the newborn photography props, wraps, blankets, hats, headbands, outfits, and other accessories needed for the session. Parents can select their favorite colors, allowing me to create several personalized setups specifically for their baby.

A typical newborn photography session lasts approximately 1.5–3 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, diaper changes, and breaks when needed. After the session, I carefully select and professionally edit the images before presenting your finished gallery.

Kids Session

Whatever you need 3 month old session, 6 month old (sitter session) we get you cover. We provide outfits, accessories and beautiful looks for the session to capture the most important milestones in the life of your little one.

Cake Smash

You baby is 1 year old! Happy birthday and congratulations! The best time to capture this moment is when the baby is 11/12 month old. In the beginning of the session, I take portraits of the baby then we pass to the decor and cake smash images. Also, by the end of the session we have bathtub session with some bubbles. So, It will be plenty of images to choose from. I provide beautiful outfit for the session, headbands for girls and hats for boys and more accessories.

Mini Session

I also offer seasonal mini session for my clients (Christmas Mini, Fall Mini, Easter Mini, Kid Mini). All the sessions are usually announced on my instagram page.

Newborn Photography Investment

To reserve your newborn photography session, a $325 session fee is due at booking. Newborn collections are purchased separately, with payment due on the day of your session. Maryland sales tax applies to collections.

In addition to digital photographs, I offer professional luxury printing products including fine-art prints, albums, folio boxes, triplex displays, and mini accordion books. These heirloom products are designed to preserve your newborn photographs in a beautiful, tangible form for your family to enjoy for years to come.

1.When Is the Best Time for Newborn Photos?

The ideal time for a posed newborn photography session is generally during the first few weeks after birth, with many families choosing to schedule their session when their baby is approximately 5–21 days old. During this early stage, newborns often sleep for longer periods and can be gently posed for classic newborn portraits.

Because your baby’s arrival date can vary, I recommend booking your Rockville newborn photography session during pregnancy. Contacting your newborn photographer during the second or third trimester gives us time to reserve your session and discuss your preferred colors, props, poses, and family photographs.

If your baby is older than three weeks, don’t worry. Every baby is different, and I am happy to discuss the best approach for your individual newborn photography session.

2. How to Prepare Your Baby for a Newborn Photography Session

A little preparation before your newborn photography session can help your baby feel comfortable and relaxed in the studio. I recommend feeding your baby shortly before the session whenever possible and bringing everything you normally need for feeding and diaper changes.

A warm bath before leaving home may help some babies relax and become sleepy. Dress your baby in loose, comfortable clothing that is easy to remove without pulling clothing over the baby’s head.

Most importantly, don’t worry if your baby does not sleep throughout the session. Newborns need to eat, be changed, cuddled, and soothed during their photography session. We allow plenty of time for breaks so your baby remains comfortable and cared for throughout the experience.

3. Feeding, Diaper Changes & Breaks During Your Newborn Session

Your baby’s comfort comes first during every newborn photography session. Feeding, diaper changes, soothing, cuddling, and breaks are completely normal parts of the experience.

If your baby becomes hungry, fussy, or uncomfortable, we simply pause the photography session and give your little one the time they need. Parents are welcome to feed and comfort their baby whenever necessary.

My goal is to create beautiful newborn portraits while maintaining a calm, patient, and baby-led experience throughout your session in my Rockville, Maryland studio.

4. Parents pictures

Mom and Dad, you are a huge part of the show. One of my all-time favorite things to do is to take pictures of the bond between parents and their baby.

Dads: wear a solid-colored shirt that looks casual. Moms : keep the design simple and the colors neutrals. I believe that neutral/tan, cream and blush, or solid/black are the colors that works best for family portraits.

5. Siblings pictures

It could seem overwhelming to include older siblings in your newborn’s photograph, but you will be happy you did! When it come to siblings, I recommend to bring some snacks, activities, toys, iPad to keep them busy during the session. My Maryland newborn session takes up to 3h so it can become long especially for young children.
